My little Calvin

Okay Addi, just smile for the camera

Smile please!

Addi, just stand up and smile please.

Addi!! Stop being crazy and just smile!

Finally.

Sometimes I feel like I am the mother in the comic strip Calvin and Hobbes.
Anyone else ever feel that way?

Looking Good!

This little girl is a MONKEY
She climbs...and gets into everything.
She has an older sister who "helps" her do these naughty things.
A couple of months ago she fell from her little chair that is attached to our counter.
She sustained her first concussion.
She vomited 3 times and was pale as a ghost.
I was sick with worry.
A month later she tried to climb into the back of our car. I was not too concerned because I knew she couldn't get up that high. I went inside to grab a bag. In the meantime Addi decided to give Ellia a 5 gallon bucket to help her climb into the car.
She fell off of the bucket.
And sustained her second concussion.
She vomited 3 times.
Again.
I was a wreck.
Again.

Last week we had another close call. She climbed on the counter and happened to be holding my rolling pin (which Addi decided she wanted as well) and was pulled right off. I was in the laundry room when it happened. Again. I was SICK. I think it was a tender mercy that all was well. I don't think I could have handled another concussion.

Solution: She now wears this helmet.

From the moment she wakes up. Until she goes to bed at night.
We are trying to make sure she goes at least a month with no more head injuries.
At least she likes it.

It's funny how you go through the day and your little ones whine and drive you crazy and don't allow you to get anything done, but when something like this happens and they are lying pale and lethargic in your arms you wish they were clinging to you, whining, and driving you crazy.

**What a little sass you are becoming Bubbs. We love your funny little personality so much! I think you should know that both times you had concussions, Dad was able to give you priesthood blessings. Right after these blessings (on both occasions), you perked up, and didn't vomit again. I am grateful to have this power in my life and in your life as well. We love you little one!

Goodbye Autumn

Oh how I love this time of year.
The crisp air.
The crunching leaves.
The smell of fall.
It always comes too late and leaves too soon.
At least we can capture these moments from time to time.

I'm not gonna lie - it's not my favorite, but the girls LOVE our annual pumpkin carving Family Home Evening.

Happy Halloween!

The trick or treating didn't last too long this year...we got POURED on!

I bought this table off of KSL for cheap. It used to be white with big knobs, and a broken leg. Wade fixed the leg. I sanded it, painted it, bought new knobs, and today it looks like this. I finished it just in time to hang my new trick or treat banner I made (with a lot of help from my friend Natalie - who actually knows how to sew). What do you think?

And here it is with the small amount of fall decor that I own.

And so I say farewell to fall.
It's way too cold these days.
I can't help it...I had to pull out my Christmas music. :)

Leaving on a Jet Plane

My Mother Dearest and Daddus Boy have been called to serve in the Honolulu, Hawaii CES mission. My dad will be doing what he loves most - teaching the gospel to the students attending BYU Hawaii. Mom will be working with the University in other areas. They are lucky to have these two choice people!
We were lucky enough to hear them speak on Sunday.
President Moss came by Sunday night to set them apart as missionaries. It was a beautiful experience and the spirit of God testified to me that the work they will be doing is true. After that we had to say goodbye. This picture was taken right before we left (and the tears fell).
Thankfully I have a most wonderful husband who knows how much I love my family. He has been good enough to put up with me heading to Sandy almost every weekend for the last couple of months - so I could get in some family time.

My nephew Michael, sister Jill, and I after our 5k in Lake Point.

My little brother Ben and his adorable family.

Gardner Village

Wade and I decided to throw a family Halloween Party. Here are a few of the activities we did:
Doughnuts on a string

Pin the wart on the witches nose.

Beanbag toss

And of course...a picture of the host...whose 70's outfit just continues to evolve into such splendedness I hardly know what to say! :)

I am so grateful to have been blessed with such wonderful parents. I am going to miss them so much! I don't know what I will do without my sweet mother the next time I have a baby (no, this is not an announcement). She has been an example to me my entire life and I do not personally know a more Christ-like person. I love you mom.

My sweet dad. You have always been my favorite pal. I love laughing with you. You are a model of strength and righteousness. I will miss singing around the piano, and I know the little girls will too. Thanks for everything. I love you.

2 years is way too long to be without you! Good thing you get to have visitors! :) Hawaii here we come!

Here we go Again!

Preschool Girl
(didn't I just post Janie's Preschool pictures?? It doesn't feel like it was 2 years ago.)

I have decided to do another preschool co-op with three other moms.

Here are the kids in our preschool class
They are a great group. We have a lot of fun!
We learn letters, read books, sing songs, role play, cook, "write" in journals...

and sometimes we even go on field trips.

And I just like this picture...so I decided to throw it in here!

* You are getting so big Addi girl. I can't believe you are old enough for this! It has been fun watching you learn and interact. I love you and I'm glad that I get to do this with you. You love it so far and ask every day if you get to go to preschool.
P.S. you want to wear a white shirt every single day. I don't know why I even bother buying you clothes. You are so particular about every little thing. At least you keep us laughing...even if it is out of frustration!
