Goblins, Anyone?

Ever been to Goblin Valley?
It was a first for our family.
And just one more reason to love Utah!

Despite the jokes about the Anderson boys not having sons...we LOVE all these little girls, and they have so much fun together. There is strength here.

DAY 1: Hiking Little Wild Horse. It is worth a trip to Goblin Valley just to do this slot canyon. It was INCREDIBLE, AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL...(and easy enough for the kids).

Going on a treasure hunt...

X marks the spot
With a picture of the lot...

Tight Squeeze...

Cool Breeze...

Now we've got the smileys.

It was a great hike. We came across about 15 scout troops on our hike...and in the narrow spots...well, I couldn't help but think of the scout law - "A scout is: ...helpful, friendly, courteous, kind..." Thanks boys for making a way for us to get through.

DAY 2: In The Valley of The Goblins. This is pretty much the best picture I have to portray what it looks like. There are all these cool-looking rock formations that the kids loved climbing/exploring.

Thanks Goblins...we will definitely be back!

Side-note: I was wrong once again...I always complain that camping is not worth the hassle of getting ready and cleaning up afterward, but it ALWAYS is - even though this is what I had to look forward to upon our return. Not to mention everything else.

Update

Because it's been a while...
WADE. In the last month he has been to the dentist twice to get 6 (yes, 6) cavities filled, worked 3 ER shifts within a weeks time, taken the scouts on an overnighter, began training for a half marathon, and most importantly - turned 30! Holy smokes babe...you/we are getting old. :)

ME: I am on one of my reading kicks. I decided to read all of the Harry Potter series again. Oh! SOOO good. Upon reading them again, I have to say that books 6 and 7 are by far my favorite. I didn't remember 7 being so good. It's amazing! I re-read The Queen's Thief series by Meghan Whalen Turner in anticipation of the new one: A Conspiracy of Kings. Not quite as good as the second and third books (which are maybe two of my favorite books of all time - who needs Edward when you can read about Eugenides?), but I still liked it a lot. She always leaves me wanting more. I love her. I enjoyed her books more the second time round. I could do an entire post just about her books. I did go to Sandy over spring break to see my little brother's new baby - little Jaycee Rae. She's adorable. It was wonderful to be home and spend time with my family.

JANIE: Once again the end of the dance year has arrived. She was so cute and fun to watch...

But guess what...she'd rather be doing this...

We signed her up to play city soccer. She loves it. She doesn't look too excited in this picture (in her defense, it was FREEZING that day). I didn't know what to expect with her first game, but she gave it her all and did awesome!

ADDI: I never would have pegged Addi to be such a girly girl, but she is. She loves everything pink, princess, dance, sparkles, dresses, dressing up... She is 100% girl, and I cannot wait to sign her up for dance next year. I gave her another hair cut. She looks so sassy and cute.

ELLIA: Still only has the 5 teeth, but so close to having more. She is already growing out of her milk allergy. Is finally weaned (for the most part :)) and is sleeping like a champ these days. I just gave her a haircut...i want to kick myself for doing it. She had these most darling curls...and I cut most of them off. SO sad. Gotta love those 5 crooked teeth!
