The other day I turned my back for a few minutes.
This is what happened...
It turns out Ellia has a milk allergy. We discovered this at about 9 months when I tried to give her a little yogurt. The other day she raided the pantry and found an ice cream carton she could stick her face in and lick all the remaining melted icecream. The icecream washed off...the hives...not so much! We're hoping she'll grow out of this soon (or I might be nursing a little longer than expected). Any suggestions? I've heard mixed reviews on soy. Goat's milk maybe?

oh poor sweet girl! That is awful! uh, I don't have any suggestions. My brother-in-law does soy with his little girl!
we do rice milk, instead of soy. Mostly because I couldn't stand the smell of soy milk diapers...oi! Connor is our sensitive one. He gets little pimply/breakouts on his cheeks and bad diaper rash when he has milk. Kids are so hard :( Hope her hives go away.
my little brother was allergic to dairy as well and my mom did goats milk for YEARS...as an adult he is fine and can have milk, just not LOADS of it! And as far as the goat went...my grandpa bought it and kept in his barn and milked it for us...so it was pretty fresh milk...and not totally horrible. lol!
Poor girl! Wish I had a suggestion for ya. Good Luck.
Poor thing, I feel your pain! Our lil' guy has major food allergies. He is allergic to milk, wheat, eggs, and nuts. We are very familiar with hives at our house! When he turned one we put him on Silk Soy milk and he has done great. (I used soy formula for a little while too.) The diapers reek, but he is growing wonderfully. He is 18 months now and hopefully will grow out of his many allergies. The soy milk is expensive, I have found it is the cheapest from Sam's Club where you can buy it in a 3 pack. If you have any more questions feel free to email me, I have learned a ton about allergies the last few months!
Poor little cutie! Bradoc had a milk allergy too and we did soy and it was great. You guys are too cute.
Oh man that stinks! So, I have a Cannon Rebel that's a couple years old. I still have a lot to learn about pictures, but I do some (amateur) editing in photoshop. I want to learn more, but thanks. Did you make the bean dip?
when we move to gunnison we will get a goat and we will share the milk with Ellia!! :) I wish I had some other advice..... but I will milk our little goat and bring you some every week :) lova ya!
you could go to an allergy specialist maybe or that lady your mom knows you were telling me about??
Sooooo sad. That is how Kelli looks when she consumes peanut butter. Hopefully Ellia will get over it soon.
Reuben has peanut/cashew allergies, but at first we thought it was milk. He was on Silk (vanilla soy milk) which was actually really tasty, and Rice Dream which he really liked too.
It's not the end of the world, I promise! Just a little difficult while she's little and she will probably grow out of it.
If you ask my mom about soy she will tell you that it will make your baby infertile in the future and a homosexual. Poor girl just wanted a little taste of ice cream. I have no advice for you, sorry. Don't call Janene for advice though - it could be "controversial" to say the least.
Poor girl! My friend's little girl has this problem too...she uses Silk??
I got another Nikon! I love Nikons, but that's all i've ever had. I've been told Nikon's are know for their lens (sharp images) and Canons are known to be user friendly. However, i've never had any issues with my Nikons. What model did you get? What a great gift! Check out Pioneer Women's website for photos tips/tricks!
