And She's Off!

Is it just me, or did she grow up overnight? Can't believe Janie's in school! I'm proud to say there were no tears (myself included)! How could I cry when she was SO excited? She woke up at the break of dawn wondering if it was time to get up and go to school. We'll see how long that lasts! :)

This is the outfit she picked out for the first day of school. Not really my style, but I will say, she looks pretty darn cute!

Our big (little) 5 Year Old!

My first born girly...how I love you! What a special girl you are to Dad and I. I can't believe it was 5 years ago that we saw you for the first time. No words could do justice describing the many emotions we felt holding our precious newborn baby. How you have grown! You are such a good mix of sugar and spice. Here are a few things about you as a 5 year old.
  • You have gotten very social. You love to play with cousins and friends. You constantly want to be entertained, and you hate it when both of your sisters fall asleep at the same time!
  • You still love TV. You are starting to get too cool to watch Dora, and I must admit, I love that you love Tom and Jerry and old cartoons.
  • You love your baby sister and are such a big help to mom. Thanks.
  • You hate having your hair done.
  • You love dressing up, playing with dolls/polly pockets, and anything outside (especially camping, bike riding, and the park).
  • You LOVE doing art projects and you are very creative. I love the pictures you draw.
  • You love music and singing.
  • Your favorite people are: your grandparents, sisters, dad and mom, Nathan, Madison, Valerie, and Abby.
  • Your favorite color: pink

We sure love you Jane! You're still as sweet and wonderful as the day you were born!

Ellia Ann is 6 Months!

Ellia Ann,
I can't believe you are already 6 months! Your life is going WAY too fast. How I love you and the little things you do! Here are a few of your latest accomplishments:
  • You are finally rolling over consistently. Mostly from your back to your belly - which is quite funny because you still don't care to be on your tummy much.
  • You are sitting up very well. It's been nice for both you and mom.
  • You are a little busy body. You want to touch everything!
  • You still wake up 1-2 times every night.
  • You love your sisters and other kids.
  • You love your mama!
  • You take 2-3 naps a day.
  • You love food and like tasting things. You don't care for baby food much, but love to suck on cantaloupe, biter biscuits...
  • Lately you have been sticking out your tongue a lot.
  • You are still very smiley.
  • You love nursing, and are very good at getting what you want!
  • 90% for height. 75% for weight. What a big girl you are!
We are thrilled to have you in our family, and feel very fortunate that you are ours to keep!

So big!
I should probably write about the first time Ellia tried rice cereal. The first bite: Mmm, that was yummy.

Give me more of that stuff right now!

Ahhh, much better. Just keep it comin!
She really loved it the first time she tried it. I have never had a baby who cried in between bites until now!

Ahh, the dreaded biter biscuits. Such a mess, but look how happy she is!

6 Years!

It was my turn to plan the date for our 6 year anniversary. We went out to eat at The Olive Garden (Wade's favorite place) and then we drove to Sundance and went to the play The Fantastiks at their outdoor amphitheater. I don't know how excited Wade was when he heard we were going to see a musical, but to my delight, he loved it. The atmosphere was very cool, and it was great to spend time together. Perhaps the best surprise of all was that Amy babysat all of my kids (yes, we got Ellia to take a bottle! :)).

We took a tractor ride to the amphitheatre.

Wade playing Yhatzee while waiting for the play to start.

Look at how sweet it is...not to mention our excellent seats.

Intermission. I love this boy.

On August 2nd, 2003, Wade and I were sealed in the Manti temple. In six years we both graduated with our bachelors degree, went through PA school, had 3 babies, and built a house. It has been crazy, but I have loved it. It has not been all smiles, infact at times it's been very hard, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. Sometimes I look back on my life before marriage and think about how easy it is to live only for yourself. I can see why marriage is a part of God's plan, and why we need it to progress. I am so grateful for this boy of mine - even during the times we drive eachother crazy! He is so good for me! I love his goodness and how he blesses my life. I'm so glad this marriage of ours will never end.
