I don't think anyone actually blogs much anymore...but I feel the need to update. It may be the only journaling that actually gets done! Time is flying by. I will try to get through March. JANUARY was a rather hard month. I think this was one of the few pictures taken (but it is a good representation of the month). We found out we were expecting baby #5. SURPRISE! This pregnancy has been hard for many reasons, but mostly because I think I wasn't prepared for it. We laid around A LOT. The girls watched WAY too much TV. I felt horrible most of the day every day- which is normal, but I think you forget just how awful it is until you are in the middle of it again. Wade had hernia surgery and was out of commission for a few days, and the girls all got colds. I hate January.
In FEBRUARY Ellia turned 5!! (Don't mind the messy kitchen...house cleaning kind of goes out the window when you are trying not to gag every time you walk into the kitchen) :)
She requested a Frozen birthday party. Here's the cake.
Here's the party! It was simple, but fun. I think she liked it and I guess that's all that really matters.
Valentine Boxes. So fun. We had a good time making these!
President's Day was uncharacteristically warm for Utah. We decided to drive to Capitol Reef and hike to Hickman Bridge with the girls. I think we all needed to get outside of the house and enjoy the fresh air.
I begged my mom and dad to come watch the girls so Wade and I could have a get away before the new baby. They agreed and I booked a trip to Mexico. I was most excited just to be away from my pantry and not have to cook. I was also hoping when I booked that I would be feeling a little better. I was 13 weeks along when we left. Mexico was pretty magical. I felt pretty good while I was there. We stayed in an all-inclusive resort. I was able to sit and read on the beach- and I didn't step one foot into a kitchen - which was just what I wanted (and needed).
Here's the little branch we went to while we were there. It was a great experience.
The view from our room
Dinner date
A bike-ride around the little town of Puerto Morelos.
The Ruins:
Probably my favorite part of our trip. So very awesome. We went to Coba and Tulum. Both were spectacular.
We even got to hike to the top of this one.
Can you see me? The people holding onto the rope were going down. Going down was a lot scarier than going up!
Tulum is right next to the ocean, and the views were incredible.
One day we took a ferry over to Isla Mujeres.
We got to zip-line over the ocean (which was pretty awesome)!
Touring the island.
It was hard to come back. Even my body seemed to reject the idea. I felt yuck the night before we came home, all day the next day, and to top it off I puked on the plane about 20 minutes before landing. But when all was said and done, it was a really great trip, and I'm glad I got to spend some time with Wade.
MARCH
The beginning of the month is kind of a blur. I was still feeling gross and then 3 of the 4 girls got influenza (I don't think Wade will ever let me go another year without giving our kids the flu shot). Luckily I didn't get it (I consider it a tender mercy). I think this year is the sickest our family has ever been. One thing after another. If it wasn't the flu it was strep or the stomach flu or nasty colds. Luckily by the last week of March (Spring Break) everyone was feeling better and we planned a St. George trip with my sister and her family. I love her kids. They are great!

One day we drove to Zion and did a few little hikes. I love Southern Utah.
Last but not least...the birthday boy. He will not be too thrilled about this picture, but it's the only one I have of his birthday celebrations - probably due to the fact that he had to work the ER for his birthday this year. Bummer. He is eating the traditional angel food cake with chocolate pudding on top - and seems to be passing along the tradition with our own kids. Janie informed me that she wanted the same thing for her birthday this year. Thought you might like to know that Marsha! :)
