There is a reason moms and dads tell their kids not to run with things in their mouths. Some kids just have to learn the hard way...this one (Ellia) almost always has to learn the hard way. My dear accident prone girl was running around with a toothbrush in her mouth and fell down. At first we didn't think it was too bad, but she started spitting out a bunch of blood. Once the bleeding stopped we looked in her mouth and discovered she had a hole through her soft palate. The next morning we took her to the hospital and she got two stitches. It was a rough couple of days. I was so nervous there was going to be internal damage I couldn't sleep (and she was pretty miserable too). Dang kids!
She healed quickly and it didn't take her long to get back to normal!
This is more like the little girl we love so much!
Wade and some of his friends hiked Orderville canyon the last weekend of September. While he was gone I went to the General Relief Society meeting with my mom and sisters.
We have been playing in leaves. I love these September and October days!
THE ANNUAL HARDY HALLOWEEN PARTY!
I don't think we will ever be able to top last year's Despicable Me costumes...but I think I may have enjoyed seeing Wade as Nacho even more than Wade as Gru. There's just something about a man in stretchy pants!
Last minute we decided to go to Zion for UEA break. We had a great time. So many people did double takes at our family. All weekend long we heard, "Are all those yours?" "Wow! Four girls?" They couldn't believe we had four children. I am so grateful for each one, and wouldn't want it any other way.
They loved riding the shuttle bus.
Well...Kate didn't love it, but at least she's smiling for the picture.
We did a few small hikes. We hiked to the Emerald Pools,
and Weeping Rock the first day.
That's about all they could handle.
The next day we hiked the little river walk to the bottom of The Narrows.
It was sad to leave...and as always I am amazed at the beauty that surrounds. We live just hours away from 5 National Parks. I feel lucky that I get to enjoy them.
