Capitol Reef

The last time Wade and I went to Capitol Reef was when I was pregnant with Janie.
I can't believe we only live an hour and a half away from this beautiful place and we haven't been taking advantage more often!

The only thing better than camping is camping with cousins!

The first night we went on a short hike to see this waterfall.
Janie lost her flip flop in the river, but Dad chased after it and saved the day!

The campground was lovely and the weather was perfect!

We went on a great hike called Sulfur Creek. It was like a mini version of The Narrows in Zion. I wasn't sure if my girls would do okay with a hike a little longer than 6 miles... I should have been more worried about myself. My pregnant body had had it after the first 4.

It's amazing what adding a little water will do for little hikers.
They probably could have gone another mile. They loved it.
Here is one of the waterfalls we played in.

Another waterfall!

The beautiful orchard across from the campground.

The next day we did a smaller hike...but it felt longer.
It was too hot for me or the kids to enjoy it much!

You'll notice Addi is absent from the picture...it was one of those kind of days for her.

By the end we were all tuckered out!
It was a great trip! Can't wait to get back and do it again - preferably NOT pregnant next time!

How fun! (And amazing of you to do so much hiking while pregnant!) Will you e-mail the info/directions to your campground and that water hike you did? We are always looking for fun new spots.
